my favorite pieces from madewell’s holiday collection

this week madewell released its annual holiday gift guide and being the brand’s biggest fan, i thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite pieces. here are a few things i wouldn’t mind finding under our tree this year:

embroidered cassia ruffle top || i feel like i have radar for feminine blouses and i zeroed right in on this adorable embroidered blouse (that comes in both white and a bright chartreuse). it would be perfect for layering under my overalls as well as paired with a number of my wide-leg cropped pants. with its pastel colors, it would also be easily transitioned from the holidays into the spring season.

bobble dashwood v-neck sweater in coziest yarn || not that this sweater hoarder needs another cozy knit but if i did, this adorable pom pom-adorned v-neck would be top on my list. a good cream sweater is a staple in any wardrobe and i’m loving the playful details on this one.

velvet balloon-sleeve sweatshirt || a velvet sweatshirt isn’t the most practical garment, but it sure is fun! and at under $50, it’s not a huge investment if it’s a piece i only wear for a season or two. i love the blush/lavender shade and would pair it with my distressed boyfriend jeans and leopard flats for a funky seasonal look.

windpoppy ruffle midi dress in windswept floral || red is a hard color for me, but this dress is FAR too gorgeous to go unmentioned. from the sleeve detail to the cascading ruffles to the subtle floral print, it is holiday dress perfection (and dress perfection for every other season of the year, too!).

flannel bedtime pajama set in leopard dot || if you’re anything like me, you change into comfy clothes the minute you step into your house. in my opinion, one can never have too many pairs of pajamas! and this leopard set is adorable.

loafer scuff slipper || my feet are always cold so i love the idea of snagging a pair of cozy slippers for wearing around the house. while the natural suede color would be the most practical, i think the pink shade is adorable as well. at under $40, they’d be the perfect gift for mom, grandma, or your best gal.

remi bow mule in velvet || the mule i fell in love with earlier in the season is now back in a mauve velvet version and i’m thinking i might like the new version more than the originals.

velvet bow hair tie || given my cheerleader background, it should come as no surprise that i love a bow hair accessory. while i also love j.crew’s version, i think i prefer madewell’s larger style (not to mention the fact that it’s over half the price).

large matte metallic glass candle || nothing creates great home ambiance more than a beautiful (and good smelling!) candle. the rate at which we burn through them, i find myself making a mental note to buy more during the holidays to last us all year long. what i love about this particular candle is that the tin can be reused for a number of things (cotton balls, hair ties, candy?) once the wax has melted.
