styling a bodysuit 5 ways

0 Permalink 7

as a child of the late 80’s and early 90’s it is baffling to me all of the throwback fashions that have made their way back into the zeitgeist. between bike shorts, scrunchies, and now bodysuits, everything that was once old is new once again. while i’m certainly not ready to entertain the two former trends, i was intrigued by the latter, especially after seeing how flattering they looked on a few of my fashionable friends.

speaking of fashionable friends… to prove to myself (and perhaps you?!) that the bodysuit belongs in your 2019 wardrobe, i’ve teamed up with some wonderful ladies -all with varying heights (and torso lengths!) and sizes to showcase just how versatile a bodysuit can be. after you’ve perused my outfit ideas, be sure to check out my fellow stylists’ ensembles on their accounts –liz (@purejoyhome), natalie (@natalieborton), caitlin (@caitlinkruse) & ashley (@lovealwaysashleyj). i can’t wait to see all of their looks! we’ll go live at 12:00 PST.

as always, the looks are currently linked on the liketoknow.it app and the styling videos will be saved as a highlight on my instagram profile.

for quick reference, i’m wearing this bodysuit from abercrombie in the white and black -both in a size small. i’m a hair under 5’7″ with a long torso. the thong style was crucial for them fitting my frame and the criss-cross back closure is adjustable to account for height as well. the material has a slight rib to it with plenty of stretch (it’s a cotton/polyester/elastine blend) and the material is thick enough to get away without wearing a bra (though i would opt for pasties for under the white one). for under $30, it’s a great affordable, yet quality option!

i’ll be 100% honest, despite really loving this challenge of styling them, i’m not certain i’ll end up keeping these bodysuits. i love pushing myself to try different styles and silhouettes, however, i want to make sure what i choose to add to my wardrobe always feels authentically ‘me’. right now, i’m not sure i’m a bodysuit kind of girl! so the jury is still out on this one for me, but if you are a bodysuit lover or aspire to be, i’m excited to share the five outfits i created that showcase the sexy one-piece.
