this friday, i’m in love with…

glossier generation g in ‘zip’ || i threw this lip stain in my online cart on a whim when i ordered glossier’s brow flick last week but was pleasantly surprised by how much i loved it once it arrived. it’s the perfect orangey red and super complimentary on my fair skin tone. i can’t wait to wear it on repeat this summer.

songland || aside from big brother (our favorite summer guilty pleasure which premiered this week) and everything on bravo, S’s and my new favorite show is songland on nbc. “undiscovered songwriters are put center stage as they pitch their original creations to top recording artists and a panel of chart-topping music producers in the hopes of creating the artists’ next big hits.john legend’s episode has been my favorite thus far, with the jonas brothers’ ep coming in not too far behind. the best thing is, as soon as the show is over, the winning song is immediately available for download! i can’t tell you how many times we’ve asked alexa to play be nice by the black eyed peas.

my upcoming madewell event || while i don’t have too many details to share quite yet, i CAN say that i’m hosting a madewell event at our local store VERY SOON and i couldn’t be more excited about it! there will be sips and snacks and a discount for everyone who attends that day. as soon as i have solidified the particulars, rest assured you’ll be the first to know! AH!

in my online shopping cart: after this sweatshirt and this shirt turned out to be duds, i returned them and decided to treat myself to this cute denim wrap dress. it arrives today and i’m hoping it’s a winner. speaking of dresses, i’m also considering snagging this simple cotton maxi in the prettiest olive shade. i think it would be so cute with my belt bag and leopard sandals.

and in case you weren’t yet aware, the nordstrom anniversary sale arrives in two weeks -on july 12th for cardholders (thank goodness, my mom is one!) and for the public one week later. you can catch a sneak peek of what’s included on nordstrom’s website, and what do you know? leopard is still making waves for fall (i can’t wait!). i never set my alarm early for things like this, but i think i might just wake up at midnight to ensure i get all of the goodies i want before they sell out!

favorite outfits from the week include: liz’s fourth of july looks, anine bing’s (my newest style crush) red sweater & every. single. one. of jenna blackwell’s honeymoon outfits (seriously every one of them!)

a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

going to style my new snakeskin skirt for a double date night with my parents!

if i have time, i’m hoping to make a video of some last-minute fourth of july outfit ideas (p.s. these memorial day outfits would also work well on america’s birthday!)

three things i’m looking forward to this weekend/next week:

the aforementioned double date with my parents to one of our favorite restaurants

warm weather is headed our way (fingers crossed)

the fourth of july long weekend

+ i’m taking over amari active’s instagram stories next friday to showcase what a day looks like in my little old world. feel free to follow along then!

and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:

put me in the zoo

summer whites with amari active

styling amari active from workout to weekend

i’m not gonna lie, i’m feeling a little depleted this week. teaching every single day sounded like a good idea in theory, but momma is TIRED. thankfully i just remembered that i scheduled myself a massage on monday so i can give my body the TLC it certainly needs. other than that, the week has had its share of ups and downs -ups included getting to reveal the photos from my amari active photo shoot and setting a date for my upcoming madewell event(!!!) and the downs unfortunately included yet another negative pregnancy test and the inevitable emotions that accompany that revelation. however, we received some really encouraging news about our health coverage and feel extremely hopeful about our fertility options should we need to explore them. i tell you, i would have never guessed it would be this hard, but i know God will ultimately use our story for His glory. as always, prayers and good thoughts are always welcome. thanks for letting me use this space to share my heart with you. i hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine if there’s sunshine to be had wherever you are.

xoxo
