admittedly this look is definitely on the edgier side for yours truly, but i think i love it! i recently started following clothing designer (and eyebrow queen) anine bing on instagram, and i swear her casual, cool, slightly masculine style is totally influencing how i dress. now that i’m in my 30’s, i feel like i want to take a bigger departure from ‘cutesy’ style in favor of something with a bit more edge. the way i seem to be doing that these days is by, as you’re all quite aware, buying all things animal print (covers face in shame).

the latest piece to my ever-growing collection is this perfect high-slit midi skirt from abercrombie. at just under $60, it’s an affordable way to embrace the current trend. i love it dressed up with a black cami and boots, but it could definitely be remixed for a more casual occasion with a sleeveless chambray tied at the waist and metallic sandals.

abercrombie button-up cami (small) || abercrombie side-slit mid skirt (small) || everlane boss boots (size up 1/2 size) || amazon round rattan bag natalie borton necklace (c/o) –coming back in august! & tassel earrings (c/o)

below are a few more snakeskin pieces i love in case you also want to jump on the reptilian trend:
