mango mid-season sale

if you’re a regular reader (hi! thank you for tuning in!), you know i basically shop at two stores -madewell and abercrombie. i’ll occasionally throw in a purchase from j.crew or anthropologie, but for the most part, you could kind of split my wardrobe down the middle and it would hail from the two aforementioned stores.

but there’s a ‘secret’ store so to speak that i like to peruse on the regular. and that store is mango -the clothing line with spanish roots. similar to zara’s aesthetic, mango offers trendy pieces as well as wardrobe basics at an affordable price. with no storefronts nearby, my shopping experience is exclusively online, but as someone who returns a LOT more purchases than i keep, i can attest that their return process is seamless. two of my favorite dresses that i wear often (see above) are from mango and every time i wear them, i think to myself –why don’t i order more things from this brand?

well self –and all of you –now would be a great time to order a few more things (or pieces for the very first time) since mango just launched their mid-season sale where dozens of items are up to 50% off. while many of the pieces are better suited for warm weather, the truth is, it’s still in the 70’s & 80’s here and will be for at least another month. additionally, the items below (including the two pieces i ordered for myself) can easily be transitioned into fall with proper layering and footwear. but enough about that, let’s get to my picks! best news is –everything is under $75!

ruffled sleeve blouse || never one to shy away from a ruffled sleeve, this one comes in four colors and is $30! it would be the perfect work to weekend top -versatile enough to be paired with pencil skirts and slacks as well as denim of all washes.

buttons cotton top || the oversized buttons drew me to this tank. i love its wider straps, which, like the top above, would make it office appropriate. while the black and white are classic options, i think i might prefer the polka dot print.

strap top || so this top is $5. FIVE. and while the bargain alone would make me want to scoop it up, i also believe it could be a perfect layering piece under cozy cardigans and cashmere sweaters this fall/winter.

modal-blend suit blazer || as much as i want to be a girl who wears blazers, i just don’t find them flattering on me. BUT just because they don’t work on me, doesn’t mean they aren’t so dang cute on other people. i love the double breasted style of this blazer and the fact that its lined. you could pair it with a skirt for work and quickly transition it for date night with a swap for some skinny denim.

cable knit skirt || shocker, the buttons on this skirt made me give it a second look. i don’t usually gravitate toward more body con silhouettes, but thinking ahead, this skirt would be adorable with a future bump. i also think the ribbed knit fabric is the perfect weight for fall -in fact, i can already see it paired with sock booties and a cozy sweater. at under $40, i decided to order it in the ecru shade (it also comes in yellow). i had a sweet instagram follower inform me that while it’s cute in person, it is slightly sheer, so we’ll see if i have to invest in a slip to ensure its appropriate for public wear.

straight long pants || who doesn’t love a drawstring pant? the style of these bottoms make them so easy for travel. they’d be perfect for a long plane ride and would most likely steer clear of wrinkles. they come in four shades (the pink/black combination is my favorite) and are $26!

culotte relaxed jeans || speaking of great pants, wide leg pants forever. this culotte style pair of denim is a madewell dupe for sure (at a third of the price)! while i’ve never tried mango denim, i would imagine it to be similar to zara’s styles which have a great reputation.

ribbed midi dress || the classic LBD, it’s a staple in every gal’s wardrobe. sadly my current closet doesn’t boast a simple black dress so i was excited to see that this one (which i’ve actually had my eye on for a while) was amongst the discounted pieces. i decided to order it in addition to the knit skirt and if it works out, i already have ideas for a future styling session, so stay tuned.

strap linen-blend jumpsuit || we’re probably slowly easing our way out of short romper season, but if you’re perhaps headed somewhere warm on a holiday vacation, this jumpsuit would be darling. it feels so retro and would be perfect with a big pair of black sunnies and lace-up sandals.

round raffia bag || what’s summer without a good straw bag? this one would definitely hold all of your beach or pool essentials. i find that the end of the season is a great time to stock up on classic pieces that will last you year after year. i have a feeling raffia bags will always be in style so why not snag one at a huge discount?

snakeskin effect bag || last but not least, i would be remiss if i didn’t include at least one animal print piece in the mix. i love this cute little crossbody bag. it’s the perfect size for a night out on the town. what i love about animal print accessories is that they become the explanation points to otherwise simple outfits. you could easily throw this on with a pair of black denim, black flats, and a white tee and look both classic and chic.
