i may or may not have treated myself to a few new things (okay maybe more than a few, whoopsies) lately. some have been homeruns, some not so much, and some have yet to arrive! at any rate, i’m here to share said purchases in case you, too, could use a sartorial pick-me-up!
loft ribbed henley tee || i’m wearing the tee in the photo above and i LOVE it. it’s a bit more fitted than my other loft henley style tops, but it’s a nice change and pairs well with looser fitting bottoms. i love the feminine sleeve detail and the taupe color which will mix and match with a zillion things in my wardrobe. it’s great with denim but i also can’t wait to dress it up with my leopard midi skirt.
loft pull-on pont shorts || you know how i feel about these as i dedicated an entire post to them, but in case you need more convincing that they are the perfect summer short, they are still on sale and come in four versatile colors (of which i own three).
old navy slouchy straight ecru-wash workwear jean overalls || okay, i was 100% influenced by @ihonestlyloved after she raved about these overalls but when i tried them for myself they were a big no thank you. given my long torso, i always have a hard time with overalls and jumpsuits fitting properly in the nether region and this pair was unfortunately not an exception. however, if you are on the more petite side (or are pregnant, they have an adorable maternity version!), ecru-wash is really big for summer and having a pair of slouchy overalls to throw on over a simple tank or even bathing suit top would be such an effortless option this season.
old navy fit & flare smocked printed maxi dress || if you follow me on instagram, you know i took this dress home after trying it on in the store. it had all the makings of a perfect summer dress -the smocking, the feminine ruffled detail, the classic print, and the lightweight material. but after getting it home and trying it on again, i realized the tight-fitting lining made me feel uncomfortable. and if there’s anything i’ve learned in the past year and a half it’s that if something doesn’t fit quite right, it has no business in my closet. so i promptly returned it and will patiently wait for another dress to arrive…
and what has yet to arrive:
mango ruffled sleeve dress || when i first found this dress i wasn’t quick enough on the draw and it sold out before i could snag it. after trolling mango’s website almost daily, i recently noticed it had been restocked! i pounced and now it is currently on its way to me (yay!). of course it has since sold out AGAIN, but since it has been so popular, chances are it’ll be restocked a second time (fingers crossed!). i am in LOVE with the silhouette and can’t wait for it to arrive so i can assess if it’s just as good in person as it appears online. i plan on wearing it with my lace-up sandals and hopefully white sneakers because i just ordered these!
breathable chuck 70 sneakers || the search for the perfect white sneaker continues, guys, but i’m hoping these might be my long-awaited answer! i love the mesh style and the fact that they’re not a true white (more of an ecru -like the overalls!). as soon as they arrive, expect a full breakdown on my instagram stories.
j.crew magic rinse puff-sleeve sweatshirt || it pays to register your birthday with some of your favorite retailers because when your special day rolls around each year you get bombarded with all sorts of promos and rewards! case in point, a $25 gift card to j.crew for this year’s celebrations. i used my credit to purchase this cutie puff-sleeve sweatshirt in dusty ivory. i plan on pairing it with my favorite distressed jeans or a pair of my new ponte shorts and birkenstocks.
i get a small commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post. thank you for supporting the brands that keep this blog up and running.0
