woven totes for summer

0 Permalink 0

there are a few things i equate with the warmer seasons -my favorite pair of sandals, the smell of sunscreen, sleeveless everything, and a good woven bag. while i’m not usually one to switch out my purse day to day, come summertime, i tend to forgo my leather tote in exchange for a seasonal carry-all. and this season i’m so excited to fill this gorgeous jute shopper with –let’s be honest, diapers, snacks, and toys, and of course my wallet to pay for it all. i initially spotted this one on mango’s website but then settled on this one with brown leather accents since i figured it would match well with my neutral wardrobe. besides its generous size, what i love most about the bag is that it has a lining that has a tie closure to ensure that its contents stay secure should the bag fall over off its usual landing spot -the kitchen counter. most totes of this size do not boast such a smart detail and i can’t tell you how many times i’ve had to begrudgingly pick up a rolling lipstick, checkbook (yes, i still write checks), and rogue protein bar from the floor after my bag has sky dived off its perch.

anyway, i can’t wait to wear this bag all summer long -taking it to the beach, pool, and maybe even on a date night to our favorite spot. if you’re in need of a woven tote for the upcoming season, i’ve rounded up a few of my favorites, all under $200.

here are a few more options from mango i love as well –this black strap bag, this basket bag, this raffia tote bag, and this raffia shopper bag.
