welcome back! i’m excited to reveal the last two looks from my four boots, four ways post (psst, here’s a refresher of yesterday’s feature). while yesterday’s pairs were more closet staples, today’s boots would probably fall under the “novelty” category. i may not wear these as often, but when i do, you best be sure i style my entire outfit around showing them off!

ever since reading this post about styling your rain boots when it’s not raining (aka the other 364 days of the year), i’ve been intrigued to style my own pair in a less conventional way –paired with my white denim shorts is pretty unconventional, don’t you think? though hunter boots come in a variety of colors, i opted for the matte black for their versatility and for the fact that they don’t exactly scream “rain boots” at first blush. i’m ready for you, el nino.

outfit details:

original ‘tall’ rain boot| hunter (size down, i’m wearing a 9)
white denim shorts | j.crew factory
sweater | madewell
felt fedora | h&m
leather belt | madewell
“sloan” necklace | natalie borton

i mean, country girl or not, i think every lady needs a pair of cowboy boots in her closet. S bought me this distressed-looking pair for my birthday this year and they have fast become one of my favorite things in my wardrobe. since i just styled them with my tulle skirt, i wanted to showcase another way to wear them without it coming across as too “hoedown.” because there’s a time and a place to pair them with a cowboy hat and your favorite daisy dukes, but the middle of winter probably isn’t that time.

outfit details:

bent rail riding boot | justin boots (size up, i’m wearing a 10)
high-riser skinny skinny jeans in dusty wash | madewell
cashmere sweater | everlane
chambray | j.crew
“emerson” necklace | natalie borton (no longer available, “daphne” is super similar!)

now go forth and be boot-iful!

I agree with your mom on this. I love how you pair your boots with the white shorts (you have lovely legs, m’dear). And who doesn’t LOVE western boots. I still think every woman should have at least two pairs of western boots… one preferably in pink or red! Love you.

Oh gosh, you’re too kind. Thank you so much for your sweet words. And I definitely agree, Western boots are a must-have in any wardrobe. xoxo

      Hi Julie!
Though we don’t have that many rainy days here in SoCal, I’m so glad I picked up these Hunter boots to wear throughout the rest of the season. Mostly for the fact that they are super cute for non-rainy days, too! Pairing them with tights to keep your toes warm and dry is a great idea! Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet words!

      xoxo
