this weekend was a very special one in terms of our wedding… you guys, we picked a date and solidified our dream venue!

after falling in love with BW three years ago when my mom took me there for an afternoon photo shoot, i tucked it away in my mind as a possible venue to exchange “i do’s” with my future groom. fast-forward to earlier this year when S and i took pictures there for a boot-styling series i featured here in january. part of my purpose of venturing out to the picturesque site was of course to have a stunning backdrop for our photos, but i’d be lying if i said that i didn’t have the secret intentions of convincing S that the place would also be the perfect spot to get married someday.

who would have thought that just three short months after that, we’d be engaged and signing a contract to hold our wedding there in just eight months?! God is good, y’all.

as i mentioned in my previous wedding-related post, the vibe of our wedding is chip & jojo chic. rustic farmhouse twinkly light succulent fairy land, in technical terms. what i love most about bernardo winery is that it has so much charm on its own already. from rusty horseshoes to flower-adorned wagons, it’s everything we want in a venue and more. and after meeting with the event team, we’re even more convinced that we’ve selected the absolute perfect place to host our big day.

with the biggest thing checked off our list, things are really starting to settle in. WE’RE GETTING MARRIED! occasionally i just shout that out when S and i are sitting watching tv just because i still can’t believe it’s real. but it’s happening, y’all and i’m so excited to continue to share it with you. so now to firm up the rest of our vendors!

it should come as no surprise, given my type A personality, that nearly the day after we first got engaged, did i reach out to all of our top vendors (photographers, wedding coordinator, florist, videographer, and caterer) to make introductions and check initial availability. so now that we have the date and the place, we can start solidifying the other professionals who will be key players in executing our big day. which means, there are SO many more updates to come!
