if we had to choose a favorite restaurant -or at least one that has been tied to some of our favorite memories together as a couple, it would be vintana wine + dine in escondido. it was one of the first restaurants we went to on a double date night with my parents and it’s also the site of at least two birthday celebrations. it’s one of those places that is a guaranteed great night -delicious cocktails, great ambiance, complimentary popovers, and don’t even get me started on their brussels sprouts. so naturally when S and i wanted to commemorate the first anniversary of our engagement (technically on the 23rd), vintana was the obvious choice.

i opted to wear another of my new pieces from jenni kayne, a new-to-me designer that specializes in classic high-quality minimalist pieces. you may remember this pattern from the dress i wore on easter, my step-mom also included this cute little tie-front cami in the gift box she sent my way. normally i don’t gravitate toward the camisole silhouette, i loved the fact that this one a) had polka dots (duh) and b) had the tie-front detail. the latter added an element of playfulness that i was immediately attracted to. i opted to pair it with my wide-leg trousers and simple black pumps. the weather was warm enough to forgot a jacket, but i brought one along just in case. if you feel like you’ve been seeing this jean jacket a lot lately, you’re right. i can’t stop wearing it! i can’t help but feel it adds a bit of polish to every outfit -even one on the dressier side like this one.

Oooo, I like this. Your look gorgeous (that shade of lipstick is certainly your color). The setting is so pretty. The outfit is really, really nice. I’m trying to not use the word perfect. Mr Camera did an exception job capturing the wonderfulness of you.

Thank you! Mom gets credit for selecting the location, I’m so glad we decided to stop by these bougainvillea bushes. My husband’s camera skills never cease to amaze me, too! xoxo
