with a more casual lifestyle these days, i have found myself turning to stores like old navy for simple yet still stylish basics. lately i’ve been quite impressed with the store’s selections -especially their abundance of polka dots ;). with some super cash (credit earned from a previous purchase) burning a hole in my proverbial pocket, i went perusing and managed to find a few things that i’m hopeful will become great wardrobe staples. here’s what is on its way to me:

luxe crew-neck tee || after striking out at madewell in my search of the perfect relaxed fit white tee, i turned to old navy instead. since i already own this soft tee in olive and black, i decided to purchase it in white as well. the website calls it “cream” so fingers crossed it’s just a case of semantics! if you haven’t jumped on the luxe tee train, i highly suggest that you do! especially since the tee is on sale right now for under $15.00.

relaxed ruffle-trim slub knit top || oh ruffles, i just can’t quit you! i’m always on the search for cute and comfortable tops to layer under my overalls so i snagged this one in the black and white polka dot print. i love the subtle ruffle detail on the shoulders and the longer sleeve length for impending cooler weather. if dots aren’t your thing, it also comes in a few striped variations.

super-long open front sweater || when i posted a photo of this duster on my instagram stories, i received a few messages singing its praises. given my newfound love of longer cardigans, i am hopeful this style will be a viable alternative to those i was eyeing from anthropologie -at a fraction of the price! i opted for the camel color and hope to layer it over the aforementioned white tee with a pair of skinny jeans and leopard flats.

jersey swing dress || with over 1000 (!) positive reviews, i was obviously intrigued by this cute swing silhouette. so i ordered the dress in both the black and black and white polka dot print. with long-sleeves, it’ll be perfect for fall/winter and even early spring when the weather is still a little chilly in the early mornings and late afternoons. i plan on pairing both colors with my new suede booties and oversized denim jacket.
