6 things from target’s who what wear collection on my fall wishlist

i remember when target launched their who what wear collection. like many of their partnerships, it was so exciting to have high-end-looking trendy pieces available at a budgetary price tag. the first (and only piece) i purchased was the above striped top with a dramatic sleeve. even two years later, i grab for it often to layer under overalls or to pair with my favorite wide-leg pants.

like any normal human, a trip to target is never a rare occurrence. however, i realized it had been a while since i shopped there for clothing (shoes, on the other hand, is a different story). but after seeing a few of their pieces featured in instagram posts of accounts i follow (and whose style i admire), it prompted me to do a full investigation of the who what wear fall collection. and i was pleasantly surprised by what i found! below are six pieces on my radar (and the two i actually ended up ordering):

ruffle sleeveless cowl neck front button-down blouse || you know i love a feminine detail so i was instantly drawn to the ruffled neckline of this top. the sage green color is unexpected, especially for fall, but i can easily see it pairing well with cognac, black, and even white (yes you CAN wear it after labor day). if green isn’t your thing, it also comes in a festive tiger stripe print as well.

mid-rise straight leg paperbag pants in faux leather || ah (faux) leather pants. try as a i may, i can never get the image of ross geller wearing them (and then getting them stuck around his ankles after a trip to the bathroom) out of my head. for that reason, i’ve always been hesitant to add them to my cool weather wardrobe. but i am SO intrigued by these pants! unfortunately they’re already sold out in the black, but the red color (which reads more as a cinnamon shade) looks so fun for fall. i am obsessed with the paperbag waistband (as evidenced in the next item) and believe it would be so flattering on nearly all body shapes. i’d tuck a striped long sleeve tee into these babies and pair them with my new(ish) leopard mules for a casual day look and elevate them for date night with a black lace blouse and matching pumps for a chic monochromatic look.

mid-rise straight leg paperbag pants in denim || speaking of paperbag waistlines, hi, these pants are SO cute! i first discovered them on emily henderson (LOVE her home and personal style)’s website. she sang their praises so much that i went straight to the target website to investigate further. at just $35, they’re a steal, especially since they seem to boast a quality found in brands five times the price. while the blue denim pair is cute, i opted for the white denim instead (again, i LOVE wearing white in the fall/winter). i’m excited to try them on and pair them with pieces in my closet. if they’re winners, expect to see them in a future styling session!

leopard print crewneck pullover sweater || it should come as ZERO shock to anyone that an animal printed item found its way in this round up. can’t stop, won’t stop. i love its vibrant colors and the black band detail around the sleeves and neckline. it would be a perfect compliment to my new pair of black denim.

puff elbow sleeve crewneck t-shirt || similar to a feminine detail, i live for a dramatic sleeve moment. the balloon-like sleeves on this otherwise simple tee won me over instantly. so much so, that in addition to the white denim paperbag pants, i also ordered this top in white. honestly, i think the two pieces would be SO cute paired together with a statement flat and a bold lip.

puff long sleeve open front jacket || after i spotted this wrap jacket from madewell a few weeks ago, i think i’m on a mission to try-on something similar on to see if it would be a good fit for my wardrobe. at half the cost, the target version is a great alternative, especially since it comes in two classic colors -white and denim (albeit an acid wash). shocker, i’m drawn to the puff sleeves, too! i’d throw this jacket over a cami and slim boyfriend denim and probably add a felt hat, too.
