as someone with a small instagram following (small in terms of fashion influencers), it’s always a big deal when a brand reaches out to collaborate. it’s an even BIGGER deal when said brand is one of my absolute favorite ones.

a couple weeks ago, an email from a member of the french fashion atellier, sezane family landed in my inbox. she explained that in celebration of their recently launched september collection, sezane was offering me to opportunity to hand-pick a piece of my choosing.

WHAT?!

i may or may not have audibly squealed. i have admired sezane pieces for years! and while i have placed many of their exquisite pieces in my online cart, for whatever reason, i never completed the purchase. having the opportunity to finally make one of their signature french garments my own was truly a dream come true. it felt like a little win for this humble fashion blogger.

after scouring the site for just the right thing, i finally landed on the abelia blouse. while this current collection is full of vibrant knits and playful prints which would spice up any wardrobe, the abelia in a crisp ecru shade felt classic, feminine, and timeless, and ultimately a piece i know i could mix and match a dozen different ways with items already in my closet. in terms of sizing, i went with my true size and it fits perfectly. what i love most about the top is the fact that you can make it as sassy or as conservative as you like (and here’s what i wear underneath to ensure no bra straps show) –leave it open for some skin (hello date night!), or overlap it for a more buttoned-up (and mom-friendly) vibe.
