popping in to tell you that i may or may not have found the most perfect white blouse and i must share because you need it in your closet, too and let’s all be twins in our lace tops, okay?
as you know, i’ve been fortunate enough to work with sezane for the past few months and with some leftover credits at my disposal, i decided to order this gaya shirt -a piece from their 10-year birthday collection. besides knitwear, sezane is probably best known for the intricate detailing of their blouses. and guys, the gaya is no exception.
she’s made of 90% cotton lace and 10% polyester (making it machine washable!) and has functional buttons down the front with slightly ballooned sleeves. though unlined, i find the blouse to be still conservative enough when worn with a nude bra. you could also layer a flesh-colored camisole underneath if you’re looking for more coverage. at $130, i understand it’s more of an investment piece, but if there’s anything i’ve really tried to do over the past year, it’s focus more on quality over quantity in terms of my closet. i’d rather purchase one really well-made shirt that i can wear for years to come without the worry of it falling apart versus two or three more affordable pieces that will only last me a season or two. a classic blouse like this will work year round when paired with every shade of denim (dark in the fall, light in the spring, and white in the summer) and can be easily dressed up with a faux leather pant for a parisian-inspired date night look.
in terms of sizing, i personally find sezane to run true to size. i wear a 2 (european 34) in most of their items. however if you have a larger chest, you could consider sizing up. this particular blouse is a bit on the boxier side so i’d say stick with your normal size. if for whatever reason the size you choose doesn’t work, i will say that sezane makes exchanges/returns very easy!
a big thank you to sezane for gifting me such a gorgeous piece that will live happily in my wardrobe for years to come.
