block sandals

on my latest trip to madewell (for this fitting room fables post), i fell in love with these block sandals. they’re the perfect height for the gal who hates heels. while i’m not exactly that girl (i do love my black 4″ heels for work), i have noticed that on any given day, i’d much prefer a flat or at most -a 2″ block heel (like the one on my boss boots). so it would make sense that i would embrace a sandal that is the happy medium of both. what i love about this style in particular is how ladylike it feels -very 50’s but with a modern twist. they’d be great to pair with midi skirts once the weather heats up as well as with wide-leg cropped pants and jeans. while they are a bit pricey, the quality of madewell shoes are always worth the investment. but if you’re looking for a more affordable pair, i’ve rounded up a few similar styles, too! speaking of affordable, i love how lauren conrad recently styled this pair from her kohl’s collection at the creative & cultivate conference:
