it’s officially flannel season (hip, hip, hooray!). to celebrate, i recently picked up a new blue and red patterned one from j.crew to add to my collection. normally, my default way to wear flannel is paired with my medium-wash gap always skinny jeans, but in assessing my closet, i soon realized just how versatile it can be. to demonstrate, i styled three outfits perfect for a variety of occasions in a little series i’m titling: one flannel, three ways.
the first way i styled the button-down was layered beneath my favorite denim dress. this technique is also a great way to transition some of your favorite summer staples into fall. i finished off the look with my western-style boots and a brown felt hat. it’s a perfect daytime ensemble to get you into the fall spirit, all that’s missing is something pumpkin spiced.
outfit details:
flannel button-down || j.crew (in stores only, similar style)
denim dress || madewell
western boots || justin boots
brown felt hat || target (similar)
tune in tomorrow for look #2!

I think this is my favorite of the three looks, but they are all so fun regardless! I love that you layered it under a dress – I feel like that’s an easy way to take your dresses into the cooler months, but it’s something not many people think to do! And the boots are adorable!

Thanks, lady! I think layering is an easy way to get more mileage out of summer staples, especially since it never gets too cold here in San Diego. Can’t wait to collaborate next week <3
