real talk: i haven’t gone to a new year’s eve party in, um (counts backwards in head), maybe eight years? when it comes to ringing in a fresh 365 days, i choose to do it a top knot and jammies, thankyouverymuch. BUT, if i were to muster up the energy to attend a new year’s eve soiree, it would take a very cute and festive outfit to get me there. luckily, the final looks of my “no stressing holiday dressing” series are definitely contenders.
look nine
at the risk of looking like mr. academy award, i love the idea of a monochromatic metallic look for party wear. and if you’re going to sparkle head to toe, the holidays are the best time to do it! as i mentioned in monday’s post, wearing all one color is an easy way to look instantly chic. since you’re essentially a walking gold disco ball, keep your accessories minimal, if you wear any at all. finish off the look with a bold red lip and plenty of champagne to toast at midnight!

look ten
perhaps the most festive look of them all, the LRD (little red dress) is a fresh alternative to its cousin –the LBD. i still can’t believe i scored this drop-waisted number at h&m last year for FIFTEEN dollars! i love how rich it looks when paired with tights and a statement necklace. while i would normally finish the look with my favorite black pumps, i wanted to show that a look can still look elegant when paired with a more casual shoe -in this case, a leather bootie. sometimes it’s okay to mix a little glamour with a bit of grunge. plus after one too many glasses of bubbly, you’ll be thankful you opted for a lower heel ;).

thanks for joining me all week for some fresh ideas on what to wear this holiday season. i hope you were inspired to remix items in your current wardrobe. don’t be afraid to play with pattern or mix textures -your closet is your oyster! styling outfits is kind of like cooking without a recipe. sometimes the best dishes are the ones you came up with on the fly!
p.s. here’s a recap of all ten looks!
