if you haven’t yet stopped by a madewell store (or perused their website) recently to check out their latest spring arrivals, i highly suggest that you do. their latest collection incorporates lots stripes, checks, muted colors, and new takes on the denim styles we already know and love. a sucker for gingham, i immediately fell in love with this adorable and effortless shirt dress upon my first visit to the site. but a visit to the store to try it on in person proved that it was a teensy bit short to maintain my preferred level of modesty (darn!). luckily, madewell made a midi-skirt equivalent which i actually think is more my speed anyway. unfortunately it’s already sold out, but i’ve linked a few similar options below.
i took inspiration for this look from a recent madewell blogpost featuring author sloane crosley. my first inclination would be to pair this skirt with my favorite chambray, but i loved the idea of mixing textures and blending a neutral color palette to create a very girly yet sophisticated look. i can’t wait to wear this to the office as well as for a future date night!

I like this outfit. The check skirt really pops with the all-neutral shades. Great job.
