if i were to transport to a different fashion decade, it would probably be the 1950’s, because let’s be honest, i’ve never met an a-line skirt i didn’t like. but in an interest of getting outside of my style box, i’ve been embracing the trends of a different fashion era –the 1970’s -which, if you hadn’t noticed, has staged an epic comeback.
it all started with the purchase of my first pair of flare jeans last fall. since then, i’ve found favor in the effortless, hippie-vibes of styles from the #peaceloveandrockandroll decade. in keeping with the trend, i recently bought this white frill-sleeve blouse from zara. the button-detailing down the back of the blouse adds visual interest and the slight-boxy cut makes it the perfect top to pair with high-waisted denim. i feel like this look is the 70’s take on a classic white tee and jeans. throw on a stacked heel leather sandal, gold jewelry, and oversized sunnies and just like that, it’s 1975.
outfit details:
frilled sleeve top | zara (size up as zara tends to run small)
flea market flares | madewell
leather sandals | madewell
“sloan” necklace | natalie borton (sold out)
