fun story about this dress. i wore it my second date with S. we met for sushi and i proceeded to (un)gracefully splash soy sauce all down the front of myself in an attempt to impress him with my (non-existent) chopstick skills. luckily his affections for me weren’t based on my dexterity alone and double luckily the cleaners were able to remove said stain.

truthfully i had forgotten about this dress until i saw it peeking out of my closet recently. every summer it seems, when the weather is finally warm enough to forgo tights and jackets, i bring it out of hibernation and reintroduce it into the regular rotation. it’s one of those dresses that while kind of looking like a potato sack, still manages to make me feel pretty and chic. maybe it’s the fact that it’s black and white and has pockets?
