we decided to kick-off the adventures with shawna leeann series a weekend early with a trip to the leucadia farmer’s market. the spring weather has been pretty perfect lately and sunday was no exception. after picking up iced coffees, we headed westward and enjoyed a leisurely morning wandering the aisles of the market.

though we left the al fresco fair empty-handed, i enjoyed seeing all that the market had to offer -everything from locally-grown produce to homemade sauces and spreads. there was also a few flower stands boasting the most gorgeous blooms, including sweet peas (my favorite!) which i’m now kicking myself for not snagging. if we were to go back on a future sunday, i’d definitely get there early (the parking was already tough at 10:30), come hungry (they have a ton of food kiosks!), and equipped with a game plan -like one of those recipes i’ve dog-eared in my issues of cooking light.
at any rate, i loved getting out and soaking up some vitamin d. besides it gave me another excuse to wear this cute off-the-shoulder top and my umbrella-sized hat.
p.s. isn’t this bougainvillea a DREAM? if only you could see the lengths S had to go to to snag these shots. what a guy.
