if it’s one thing i’ll never tire of, it’s hats. straw hats, in particular. my collection currently stands at six and it’s only bound to grow from there (#sorryimnotsorry). my latest addition is this cuyana hat, which is actually a steal at under $80. i’ve seen it often worn on two of my style crushes (julia & natalie) and am excited to finally add it to my closet.

with how dreary the weather has been lately, i’ve been living in hats on the weekends since they’re the easiest way to cover up limp locks. they’re also the easiest way to add pizzazz to an otherwise simple outfit. i’ve linked some of my favorite straw hats below.
style hack: when i received my hat, it was a hair too big. rather than exchange it for a different size, S and i came up with an easy fix. we trotted down to our local home depot and picked up a pack of weather stripping -yep you read that right! since the lining of the hat was fairly thin, we opted for a version that was 3/4″ wide and 3/16″ thick. S simply measured the diameter of the hat, snipped off a piece, peeled back the label and adhered the sticky side beneath the ribbon lining, ensuring that it was hidden from plain sight. voila! the insulator worked perfectly to create a snugger fit.

Gorgeous hat. Clever idea to give it a snugger fit. Love the overall look. And the clutch purse is simply perfect.

Isn’t it a beauty? I’m so glad our style hack worked since I plan on wearing it all season long! xoxo
