i’m going to start sounding like a broken record around here with how much i talk about kelly leveque, but for someone who has always kind of had a strained relationship with food, i can honestly say that kelly’s book and overall philosophy has revolutionized the way i approach health and eating. so with that being said, today i’m sharing my new go-to breakfast, a fab four smoothie. the fab four smoothie combines 20 grams of protein + 1-2 tablespoons of fat + ~10 grams of fiber + handful of greens to create a meal replacement shake that not only helps to balance blood sugar levels, but keeps you full until lunch time.
i’m a creature of habit, so while there are a zillion different intimations you can make using kelly’s fab four formula, i eat the same exact smoothie every single morning (i go to bed excited to make it in the morning). if a vanilla almond butter flavor isn’t your speed, kelly has a ton of other options to try on her website like dark chocolate sea salt and blueberry muffin.
my favorite green smoothie
ingredients:
1 scoop of vanilla egg white protein powder (i use this brand)
2 tablespoons (ish -i don’t measure) of raw creamy almond butter (tj’s brand)
1 tablespoon ground flax
1 heaping handful of spinach
2 cups of vanilla unsweetened almond milk
a few drops of vanilla liquid stevia
directions:
combine everything into a blender and blend on low for a few minutes, then on high for a minute to ensure the ingredients are well incorporated (especially the spinach). pour into a tall glass with a straw, sip and enjoy!

That sounds light, tasty, and healthy. I’m so glad you’ve found a recipe book where you can take inspiration. Like you, I prefer to not over-think meal time. I’m enjoying it when you share the recipes… I’m sure they inspire others as well.
