in case you missed it on instagram, my sweet and talented husband just finished building us this gorgeous king-sized bed from scratch, a dupe of west elm’s mid-century platform bed. after years of sleeping on a queen, it has been such a treat for us to have the extra space, especially given the fact that we also have a brand new memory foam mattress to relax on each night.

with the addition of the bed, it feels like our bedroom is finally coming together. so what’s next on our list? finding a pair of sconces to decorate the space above each nightstand! with the abundance of white and natural wood, S and i think a simple gold design would be best to accent the room. we haven’t solidified our choice just yet but i gathered up a few styles we’re currently considering as well as a little pinterest inspiration for the vibe we’re hoping to create:
