six things i just ordered from target’s holiday décor collection

so after having a mini meltdown about the pressure to make the holidays *perfect* for the twins this year, i pulled myself together, thought about how i did want to celebrate the upcoming season, and decided that first and foremost, i wanted to fill our home with cute neutral (and toddler safe!) holiday decorations to set the scene for what’s sure to be a memorable six weeks. so i turned to target and found a half dozen adorable and affordable pieces to adorn our hearth and mantle this year.

in addition to the below items, i also snagged this adorable tabletop tree for our breakfast nook (despite it being faux, it still has to be out of the twins’ reach). when the time is right, i’ll be sure to grab some fresh garland and wreaths from trader joe’s to give our home that delicious pine smell. we invested in a balsam hill frosted alpine fir tree a couple years ago so i love the idea of adding pops of REAL greenery to make casa de rivera smell like christmas.

p.s. can you believe this photo of my christmas elves from last year?! they were such baldies!

set of three woven bell ornaments –threshold designed with studio mcgee || if you’re familiar with studio mcgee, you know shea has impeccable taste so it should come as no shock that her holiday collection at target is a) beautiful and b) mostly sold out. while they’re technically ornaments, i grabbed this cute bell trio with the intent of bundling them together to adorn the top of a wreath (like this!).

gnome decorative figurine brown –wondershop || i mean, who doesn’t love a little christmas gnome? this little guy just made me giggle. i plan on finding a home for him on our mantle but should he take a tumble onto the floor, i love the fact that he’s plush and thus safe for the twins to handle.

6 ft pom pom christmas garland with braided rope ivory –wondershop || when i was deciding on whether to go with this pom pom garland or a similar one with bells, i asked my husband for his opinion so he could be the deciding vote. he came back with, “i’m a big pom guy” (lol), so pom poms it was! we have a photo ledge in the family room that is just out of the babies’ reach so i plan on draping the garland across the bottom of it for a little festive fun.

2 pk 6 in bottle brush tree decorative figurine set green –wondershop || the remaining three items are essentially the same bottle brush tree just in a variety of neutral colors. my friend caitlin recently shared her decorated mantle and it was covered in these cute little trees in all shades and sizes and i loved its simplicity yet whimsy. so consider these six trees the start of what’s to become a holiday forest.
