if you know me, you know there are three things i can’t resist -a puff-sleeve, an iced coffee, and a ruffle (there are probably a dozen more items but narrowing it down to three felt dramatic). so when instagram served up this sweater in a targeted target ad (lol), i absolutely obliged. i went a leeeeetle crazy with buying sweaters last fall (which is ironic seeing as i didn’t wear anything other than old workout clothes because we were knee deep in spit up which i really do not miss one bit), so i’m trying to be mindful about both wearing said purchases THIS season and not going too overboard with any new additions this year.
HOWEVER when a sweater seems like it might have been knit personally for you, you say, “well it wouldn’t hurt to at least try it out, right?!” especially when it’ll only put you out $30 american dollars ($29.99 if we’re really splitting hairs). so i ordered it in grey and crossed my fingers it would live up to the hype i had already created in my head.
guys, it lives up to the hype! honestly, it is one of the better target purchases i have made in a really long time. it’s soft and light-weight, and thank the lord, not at all itchy. the ruffle is feminine without being too juvenile or overwhelming on your frame and in a sea of crop tops (WHY is everything cropped lately?! it feels like a crime against long-torsoed people), it’s a moderate length -at least long enough for a sturdy front tuck. in addition to grey, it also comes in black and mint green and fits true to size (i’m in the small). i recently wore it with my distressed denim and snakeskin flats, but i have plans to remix it with pieces from my wardrobe (and a few that have yet to arrive). below are a few more outfit ideas on how to style it!
i get a small commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post. thank you for supporting the brands that keep this blog up and running.0
