if there’s one time of year i look most forward to shopping, it’s fall. the colors, the textures, the patterns, i love it all. this morning i woke up to j.crew’s latest bunch of new arrivals (+ a 30% off sale! use code NEWNOW) and in perusing them managed to find 11 pieces i could have easily added to my online shopping cart. here’s what has me swooning (and currently counting down the days to the new season):
tissue turtleneck in leopard || i’m not usually one for turtlenecks, but of course the leopard print of this one is quickly changing my mind. i’d love to layer this under my black overalls or under my new black slip dress i just ordered from mango.
point sur ruffle-sleeve popover shirt in playa floral || i’m a fan of mustard all year round, but especially during the autumn season. i love the feminine ruffles and playful print of this popover shirt. it would be perfect with a pair of good denim and booties.
embroidered gingham popover || similar to the top above, this blouse is another great style to pair with your favorite jeans. personally, i might opt for a classic black and white ensemble by pairing it with my favorite pair of black denim. add a red lip for a pop of color.
plush fleece bomber jacket (excluded from promo) || because S and i got married in january, i made sure to have a cute faux fur jacket to wear over my wedding dress during the reception. while mine is old from volcom, this style from j.crew is SUPER similar. given how much i still wear my old wedding jacket, i’m highly considering this version in another color (white). you can literally wear it over anything -dresses to sweaters and jeans. it’ll be the coziest thing you own.
ribbed v-neck cardigan dress with belt || after adopting slip dresses as my new favorite silhouette, i find myself gravitating toward sleeker (and body-hugging) designs. this updated LBD would be so so versatile in a fall/winter wardrobe (and especially cute with a growing bump, just saying ;)). i think the first thing i’d pair it with are my new regan leopard booties!
the reeds x j.crew puff-sleeve sweater || i originally saw this cute sweater on natalie when she stopped by the store recently and decided to try it on myself when i went by to pick-up my mules. unfortunately her petite frame was a better match for the cropped fit as it was a wee bit short on this longer-torsoed gal. womp womp. it’s so soft, though and would be a great piece to dress up for work (with slacks or a pencil skirt) or down for your weekend (pair with boyfriend denim for a fun mix of masculine and feminine).
leopard faux-fur coat (excluded from promo) || living in san diego, a heavy coat really isn’t necessary to have in my wardrobe. however, since S and i love to travel, sometimes i think i could justify adding something like this gorgeous faux fur coat into my closet for special occasions. did i mention it comes in not one but TWO versions of leopard print?
10″ high-rise toothpick jean in leopard || madewell had a similar version of these jeans last fall and i really regretted not snagging them, so i’m heavily considering adding this pair of festive denim to my collection. when your pants make the statement, you can keep the rest of the look simple with a black cashmere sweater and leather flats.
terry sweatpant in leopard || i own two pairs of j.crew sweatpants and they are hands-down worth every penny. they wash and wear super well and are just overall great investments, especially for someone who changes into pajamas the minute she arrives home. i personally love the print (obviously) and the jogger style silhouette. if you want to be matchy-matchy, you can grab the coordinating sweatshirt, too.
gwen flats in leopard calf hair || say it with me, i do NOT need another pair of leopard shoes, but if i did, i might snag these cute loafers with funky studded bow. i’ve said it many a time in my styling sessions, but the easiest way to adopt the animal print trend is with accessories -most notably footwear. a classic leopard shoe will carry you from fall, into the holidays, and right back into spring. p.s. i tend to find that j.crew shoes run TTS.
cape-scarf in double-sided leopard || while i don’t travel often, i know the importance of being comfortable on a plane. this beautiful cape would be an EXCELLENT travel companion especially on a long-distance flight. i love how it’s styled on the j.crew website -layered over a denim on denim look. similar to the leopard skinny jeans, this cape is a statement so it would be perfect worn over a simple white tee and dark jeans.
