the puff-sleeve sweatshirt i own in three colors

it’s been eons since i did an outfit post like this but i’m hoping to bring them back in some capacity as the twins become more manageable (and fun!) in their burgeoning toddlerhood. S and i used to scout viable backdrops for #ootd photos on our way to dinner on those breezy saturday nights pre-parenthood. a vibrant bougainvillea bush, a colored wall, and if we were lucky -an ethereal-looking field of wildflowers, anything more majestic than our earth-toned courtyard (the site of many an outfit documentation). now that weekend afternoons often include an adventure as a family of four (see also: an activity that tires the babies out before bedtime), there’s prime opportunity to sneak in a quick photoshoot of mom’s cute ensemble. so be on the lookout for future posts as well as a twin cameo or two…

but let’s talk about the outfit. as a mom of multiples, it would make sense that i’m also a believer in owning multiples of a specific wardrobe piece if said piece brings you joy. (a stretch of a connection but go with me). i’ve become a connoisseur of sorts of this rebecca minkoff sweatshirt, most recently adding this medium heather grey shade to my collection. over the course of motherhood, i’ve come to prefer sweatshirts > sweaters for their ease and washability (not a word, but it should be) and let’s be honest, at this point, i should just change my middle name from leeann to “puff-sleeve” for how many tops in my closet boast the feminine detail. i realize the price tag on this top is a bit steep for an otherwise fancy sweatshirt, but for how often i find myself reaching for them (i own it in grey, caramel, and white), the cost per wear is justified. you’ll most likely find me wearing it just how i styled it in these photos -with denim and sneakers, but i also think it can be dressed up with a midi skirt and heels or a great pair of trousers and loafers, too. a note about sizing -i find it to run on the smaller side so i suggest sizing up at least one size for a little breathing room.

i get a small commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post. thank you for supporting the brands that keep this blog up and running.
