before i discovered madewell, i feel like anthropologie was my GO TO in terms of purveying my wardrobe. first of all, their dressing rooms/dressing room mirrors/dressing room lighting is/are above and beyond the most flattering in the business, a fact that always makes the in-person shopping experience exponentially more delightful. but equally as important is the fact that they carry a variety of brands and styles at an array of price points. while i did take a pause from shopping there during their whole patchwork skirts and oversized ponchos era, i am BACK on board, most notably due to the arrival of their private label –maeve. guys, i’m mad about maeve. most tops are under $70 (a justifiable price point) and boast either a ruffle or puff-sleeve, so you know, quintessential “shawna.”

on a recent SOLO trip to the store (let’s take a moment to appreciate that detail [ ], thank you), i found and quickly fell in love with this ruffle-sleeve tee. while it comes in a gorgeous pink and fun floral shades, i opted for classic white for its versatility. it’s ever so slightly cropped and perfect for pairing with all things high-waisted in your closet (see also: everything). i chose to balance its feminine details with my favorite pair of distressed denim and a simple ballet flat and finished off the entire look with a bold pink lip. voila, a white tee and jeans but elevated.
