i’m the type of person who would much rather be too cold than too hot (part of the reason we decided to get married in january), but i’m not gonna lie, i’m real excited about summer. if only for the fact that these gams could use a healthy dose of vitamin d (under the protection of a strong spf, of course).
march in san diego can kind of go both ways -super rainy or unseasonably warm. lately we’ve been having an abundance of sun (knock on wood) and you can bet i’ve taken full advantage of it in terms of dressing. on saturday, S and i took a day trip to temecula, an area known for its abundance of wineries. with the projected temperatures in the 80’s (!), i busted out some of my new favorite warmer-weather pieces -including this cold shoulder top (which you may remember from my first “fitting room fables” post) as well as these incredibly comfortable perforated sandals.

thank goodness the tasting rooms were air conditioned because it turned out to be quite toasty in temecula. i was glad i had opted for this cold-shoulder top which lent itself to proper ventilation with its cut-out detail and its cropped, swing-shape. it was perfect to pair with my high-waisted cropped jeans and a big straw sun hat. at just under $50, it’s the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe. in fact, i just might need to snag it in white as well.
p.s. if you’re wondering which wineries we visited, we opted for oak mountain winery and danza del sol. both are off on the smaller side but offer an array of red and white wines (since S loves red wine and i’m all about the
white sweet varietals). oak mountain is also dog friendly!
