y’all. yesterday a crazy thing happened for san diego. we had real weather! it rained on and off most of the day, which may have not been the best thing for my hair, but boy oh boy was it a nice change of pace to the crazy heat wave we’ve endured all summer long. though it was more of a tropical rain than a cool one, i took the change in weather pattern to mean that at long last fall had finally arrived in my city.

and in my book, fall = sweater weather.

almost immediately after spying this coatigan (coat + cardigan = coatigan) on loft’s instagram feed did i race over to the website to view it in greater detail. after previously admitting to my lack of love for cardigan sweaters, this cardigan/coat hybrid definitely made me change my tune. it’s heavy enough to add warmth but not so bulky that you feel like a marshmallow puff. in terms of outerwear, it’s pretty darn close to perfect.
