to me cashmere is the definition of luxury. which is probably the reason i’ve probably never owned anything cashmere. it seems so posh spice, when i’m more of a ginger.
but after ringing in the big 3-0, and adopting the mantra “quality over quantity” as it pertains to shopping for my closet, i figured if i was going to treat myself to a garment made in the plush fabric, this was the best year to do it. since most of my pieces must pull double duty, it was easier to justify spending the extra money on a high-end piece since it had a better chance at surviving the wear and tear of being worn for both day and play.
plus, have you ever felt cashmere? it’s easily the softest thing ever. when i opened this sweater on christmas and realized santa must read my blog (thanks, santa!), i immediately put it on over what i was wearing. even over the silk shirt, it still felt like a warm hug. it has taken everything in me to not wear it everyday. which probably means i should get it in black, too, right?
anyway, with the winter temperatures quite frigid this year (not complaining after that oven of a summer we had), i have a feeling this baby will be on heavy rotation. which is fine by me, because i had a blast styling it for day and play.
