it’s not often i can wrangle my photog to step away from behind the camera and join me in front of it but i bribed him with snacks (girl scout cookies, specifically) so here we are. truthfully i have never been a big fan of valentine’s day. but maybe that’s because i never really had a valentine before S came along. at any rate, the most romantic day of the year is just days away so i thought it might be fun to style day and play looks for me and my guy.

when it comes to our relationship, S and i would definitely opt for take-out and a diners, drive-ins, and dives marathon than a fancy date on the town. so knowing us, we’ll probably choose the former (or something of the like) when celebrating the holiday this year. but then again, sometimes it’s nice to peel off the sweatpants and put on lipstick and pretend like we’re on our first date all over again (without the incessant giggles from yours truly after nervously slurping down a big glass of hard cider). so whether you’ll celebrate love day with a casual affair (a beach side picnic, trip to the driving range, or matinee movie at the fancy pants theatre) or something a bit more glam (dinner at a five-star restaurant, rooftop setting for drinks and dessert, or even a friend’s hosted party), S and i have styled two festive looks for you and your fella to don whatever the occasion.

since there were so many fun photos to share from this shoot, i decided to split the post into two parts. today’s looks are perfect for the casual date i mentioned above. oh and side note? if you ever happen to find a rope swing, i highly suggest you take advantage of it.
