as we’ve long-since established, i’m a sucker for stripes. and black and white. and well, really pretty dresses. so when i spotted this dress in banana republic, it was like all of my favorite things had gotten together and made a baby. and that baby was the perfect silk drop-waist dress.
aside from the fact that its longer hemline will help me avoid a wardrobe malfunction, what i love most about this dress is its versatility. the light-weight fabric makes it perfect for donning in the upcoming warmer months, but the fact that it has long-sleeves also ensures that i won’t freeze if in fact spring doesn’t arrive as quickly as expected. with social events already populating my google calendar (tis the season for bridal showers!), this dress is bound to rack up some mileage. so i’ve already begun dreaming up different ways to style it so it feels fresh and new at every wear. below are just two of the many ways it’ll get worn this spring/summer -an easy daytime weekend look and one better suited for the office or a special occasion.

don’t be surprised if this dress shows up again in a future post. as always, my main goal as a fashion blogger is to showcase how easy it is to remix some of your wardrobe pieces for the many aspects of your life.
