one of my oldest and dearest friends was in town this weekend so on sunday morning we grabbed coffee and caught up about life. the last time i saw her was almost exactly a year ago (on our trip to napa) so it was so so good to reconnect and have a little face time while also enjoying a perfect summer day in my favorite sleepy beach town. we grabbed iced coffees from better buzz and walked down to a lookout point where we found a bench to sit and admire the view.

i just picked up this hat from madewell last week -it’s a new arrival from their pre-fall collection and while it kind of makes me feel a little like indiana jones, i have a feeling it’ll be hiding many a bad hair day once sweater weather is back upon us. i threw it on along with a sleeveless chambray and denim cut-offs for an easy weekend casual look. unfortunately a felt hat wasn’t the best decision on a very warm day (sweat city!), but hey, at least i looked cute!
