though i’m not quite yet ready to say so long to summer, i would be lying if i’m not anxious for fall. and yes, for all of the cliche reasons we all get excited for the season -pumpkin everything, FOOTBALL, boots, scarves, beanies, oh my! but also for the cool color palette, for plaid, and layers, all the layers.

so when putting together an outfit for meeting a friend for coffee sunday afternoon, i decided to give myself a preview of an outfit i might wear on repeat come october. i opted for a plaid button-down (as opposed to my regular chambray) to tie around the waist of my denim dress and swapped out sandals for lace-up flats. i finished off the look with my newest felt hat.

everything was still light-weight enough for me to stay cool in the summer sun, but the difference in color palette payed homage to the impending season. (pre-season) football is already back on tv, you guys, so it’s happening -the best season of the year is well on its way. and in honor of its pending arrival, i plan on sharing more outfits that transition some of your summer pieces into the fall season. stay tuned!
