before we ventured to dinner on saturday evening, S and i took a drive down PCH. though fall officially began last thursday, you’d never know it by the weekend’s weather. the beach was abuzz with locals and tourists alike savoring the sunny conditions. i had planned on wearing this top again with my flare jeans and leather booties, but when i realized it was 80-degrees, i had to make a last-minute change to comply with the september heat. these lace shorts and my nude lace-up flats were the perfect substitute.

now, let’s talk about this top knot. anyone who has attempted their best carrie bradshaw bun knows how elusive the perfect updo can be. somehow the stars aligned for me on saturday afternoon because as i wrapped my pounds of hair atop my head (i swear i had a neck ache by the end of the evening #worthit), it magically resulted in this symmetrical gem. i barely needed bobby pins and hairspray. YOU GUYS, WHAT IS THIS SORCERY? i didn’t question it, i just said thank you for the hair gods and went on my merry little way.
can a weekend be good based on good hair vibes alone? i say yes. but this weather, this view, and the man behind the camera certainly didn’t hurt, either.

Wow! Your top knot looks like you had it done professionally! Since I know how much hair you have that must have been quite an accomplishment. I need to ask if your talented photographer if he used a flash or if it was just great lighting because these pictures are stunning. The model is gorgeous too.

You’re too kind, Momma. No flash, just got to the beach at a good time of day to take advantage of the beautiful natural light! xo
