happy #nationalstripesday! as i mentioned in last week’s post, j.crew created today’s holiday to honor the humble stripe which has been an integral part of their brand since its inception in the early 1980’s. never one to miss an opportunity to celebrate a pattern that makes up a good portion of my wardrobe, i went all out. stripes on stripes, you guys.

i picked this cute little tee up last week on major sale. unlike some of the other striped tops i have from j.crew, this one is made from a soft jersey knit making it crazy comfortable. the gingham ruffled sleeve detail elevates the style so it’s dressy enough to wear to work (i’ll definitely pair mine with a midi skirt or wide-leg trousers) but casual enough to sport with your favorite pair of denim (like these shorts as we head into summer). it’s also the perfect top to wear with my beloved striped sailor pants for the quintessential #nationalstripesday ensemble.
