with just over three months of marriage now under our belts, S and i are really starting to feel settled in our home. though he moved into the townhouse i’ve owned for now almost 10 years, we’ve made a lot of changes (correction he has made a lot of changes) to make it feel like ours. from fresh interior paint to a newly refaced fireplace, casa rivera has transformed into our little farmhouse-inspired bungalow.

so with honey-do list all but completed, S and i decided it was high-time we spent our weekends exploring our city instead of exploring the halls of home depot. so we made a list of things we wanted to do and see -places we had always talked about visiting but had never quite seen to fruition. we’ll take the month of may (and maybe part of june) to check one (or more) item off our list every weekend. i’ll of course be sharing our recaps every week in a series i’ve titled “adventures with shawna leeann“, along with tips and recommendations pertinent to each activity. here’s the items we hope to see/do/visit next month! we can’t wait!

take a trip to downtown la jolla + visit the birch aquarium + take photos in front of the rainbow wall

ride bikes in coronado + visit the hotel del + stay for early dinner

explore liberty public market

wine taste at bernardo winery (our wedding venue!) 

grab a coffee at dark horse + explore north park + take photos in front of the infamous pink ombre wall 

play st. mark’s executive golf course + stay for cocktails

grab better buzz coffee + shop at the leucadia farmer’s market

go to a museum in balboa park

wander through the san diego botanic gardens

road trip to lido marina village in newport beach 

obviously, there are a lot of activities on our list, but we’re hopeful to make a significant dent over the new few weeks! anything we don’t accomplish can always be pushed into later in the summer. at any rate, it’s fun to have a working list of activities to keep us entertained, outdoors, and most importantly -continually dating each other. three cheers for exploring san diego with fresh eyes and making memories along the way!
