now that memorial day has come and gone, i feel like summer is officially here. that means two (of many) things: white denim and summer fruit. S and i attended a barreBQ (a barbecue with my favorite barre babes) a couples weeks back and i was in charge of bringing the fruit salad. i may have gone a little crazy at sprouts, grabbing nearly every ripened fruit in sight -mangoes, honeydew, peaches, strawberries, blackberries, grapes, and of course, the quintessential summer staple, fresh watermelon. is there anything better than juicy watermelon on a hot summer day?

speaking of a hot summer day, as the temperatures heat up, i know i’ll be living in these shorts all season long. if you don’t own a pair of white denim shorts, i highly suggest you snag yourself a pair. they are the perfect compliment to nearly every color in your wardrobe -especially blue and white stripes, which as you know i own plenty of. i love wearing mine with a cognac leather belt and a pair of neutral sandals and if the occasion calls for it, a bold red lip. while i wore this outfit for our memorial day bbq, it would be perfect for the upcoming 4th of july festivities as well, watermelon included.

 

 

p.s. if you’re concerned about keeping your white denim white, this stain remover i have used since middle school (i actually tested stain removers for a science project) and it works like a dream!
