the older i get, the more i gravitate toward comfort. though my personal mantra is “life’s too short to wear boring clothes,” it might as well also be “life’s too short to wear uncomfortable clothes, too.” the same goes for shoes.

i am certainly no stranger to sacrificing comfort in the name of vanity. my entire heel collection from my 20’s could be a case study in that. but once i hit 30 (and probably a little before that, too), i decided i would embrace flats. and wedges. and low-heeled booties. and aside from one pair of black pumps, i haven’t looked back since.

a fairly new addition to my shoe repertoire has been sneakers. while i definitely wore my adidas superstars with my school uniform in middle school (dying over the fact that they’re back in style now 20 years later), other than a pair of nikes for the occasional gym/outdoor workout, tennis shoes haven’t been on my radar in recent years. but after seeing them styled with everything from jeans to midi skirts lately, i’ve come to embrace my sportier side.

you may remember these cute leather sneaks from this + this post. i feel like they were my gateway shoe into the sneaker world. they’re light-weight and sleek almost like a ballet flat but with the comfort and practicality of a tennis shoe. they were perfect for traveling and i plan on wearing them to disneyland when S and i head there on friday(!).
