i like to think of personal style as a series of little trial and errors. sometimes the ideas i come up translate better than expected in real life, while others, well, don’t. but every now and then i stumble upon an outfit formula that makes me feel pretty great and when that happens, i always log it into my arsenal for future recreation (especially on those days when i stand in front of my closet and lament that “i have nothing to wear!”). the great thing about this particular ensemble is that it basically feels as comfortable as wearing pajamas while also feeling very chic.
it goes a little something this –silk joggers + cotton tee + oversized cardigan.
joggers (c/o) || long-sleeve tee
similar cardigan || similar flats || tassel earrings (c/o)
in this instance, i think the key to keeping the outfit from looking too much like glorified sweatpants is opting for a monochromatic color palette for your base layers. i know whenever i want to feel my most chic, i gravitate toward an all-black outfit. of course the black tee and joggers would be fine on their own, but the addition of the oversized knit not only adds warmth, but dimension, texture, and a bit of color (if grey and white are considered colors?). overall, i love the look and i definitely think i’ll recreate it in another capacity later this season. want to create something similar? i’ve linked my favorite joggers, tees, and cozy cardigans below:
