i don’t know if you’ve been shopping recently but i swear shirts are getting more and more cropped by the day. for someone with a long torso, this recent development doesn’t bode well for me. HOWEVER, since adopting a higher rise pant/jean as my cut of choice, it has made the transition a bit easier. i work hard for a toned mid-section but showing off dem abs isn’t exactly workplace appropriate (i’m also not 21 anymore). therefore the key is to figure out how to pair shorter hemlines with pants and skirts that minimize ab real estate.

this top didn’t exactly have glowing reviews on madewell’s website, but after trying it on in the store, i personally found it to quite flattering (in a boxy, breezy, meant to be oversized kind of way). just goes to show you that while reviews are certainly very helpful, they’re not always accurate. everybody and every body is different so if you can, try to swing by a store and try a garment on in person before completely ruling it out. just a little PSA from me to you.
i wore this casual look for our mother’s day lunch at our favorite mexican restaurant. the weather has been deliciously springlike lately so the loose-fitting top was perfect for keeping me cool in the sun. after lunch, we were able to take my step-dad and S’s parents over to the new house for a quick drive by (we still don’t have the keys quite yet, but it was nice for them to finally see it in person (my mom was able to go to the initial inspection so she’s seen it already)). every time we stop by, i get more and more excited to move in! with the response i got from last thursday’s post, it seems like you’re excited for us to move in, too! this warms my heart so much, thank you for your support. i plan on sharing two more house-themed posts later in the week, so if you’re interested, be sure to check back then.
