this friday, i’m in love with…
our new photo ledge || if you watched my stories on wednesday evening, you know that S finished our photo ledge and hung it up on the wall perpendicular to the sectional (you can see it in my “casa de rivera” highlights in my instagram profile). you guys, it looks even better than i originally envisioned. as a refresher, we’re using this ledge from the popular home DIY blog, chris loves julia as inspiration. so now that the ledge has been installed, we just need some playful prints/photographs to adorn it. we currently have three of our wedding photos (in our favorite gold frames) propped up as placeholders, but we’ll probably end up moving one or two of them to a different location as we determine the perfect formula of photos vs. artwork. as an homage to my husband’s woodworking skills, we just ordered this print from etsy. we also have our sights set on this llama print and this illustration of our favorite band (haim). we’ll probably add one more piece but that one has yet to be determined. once the ledge is finally outfitted, we’ll be just about done with decorating the living room. all that’s left are some throw pillows for the sectional and perhaps one more more piece of decor for the mantle. i am absolutely obsessed with how the room has come together and i’ll share more once it’s complete!
our costco membership || i took monday off from work (three cheers for using up my last floating holiday before the end of the month!) and spent it with my momma. in addition to going out to breakfast and doing some retail therapy at madewell and lululemon, we also took my inaugural visit to coscto with our freshly minted costco card. while i could have bought quite a bit more (S had just gone to the store two days before so our fridge was pretty stocked already), i did manage to grab some goodies that i know will fast become kitchen staples in our home. a few items of note that i highly recommend —popcornopolis nearly naked popcorn (in a bag the size of a small child), brown rice crunch rollers, nuttzo, organic frozen blueberries (for coconut yogurt parfaits and smoothies), and organic frozen riced cauliflower (try it with coconut aminos or braggs luquid aminos for an asian-style meal).
p.s. my gal natalie borton was sweet enough to feature me in her “style minute” blog series this week. read more about my thoughts on personal style and my love affair with her tassel earrings.
in my online shopping cart: this tee in weathered olive, this cute striped tee (ordered it!) & this ruffled blouse
favorite outfits from the week include: julia’s casual look & amanda’s two-piece set
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:
TBD!
as we round out the final three weeks of my time in the corporate world, i’ve realized that life is going to be pretty darn busy for the next 21 days. thanks for your patience if the blog is quieter than normal for a little while 😉
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend:
sushi date night
subbing all the studio barre encinitas classes (come tuck with me!)
a facial
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:
the only sweater you need for fall
despite only having a four-day work week, i won’t lie, i am exhausted. this week has kicked my booty and i’m very much looking forward to sneaking in some R&R with my number one and our DVR. however you plan on spending the next two days, i hope they include something specifically for YOU because you deserve it. see you next week!
