this friday, i’m in love with…
madewell x karen walker || madewell launched their latest collaboration this week and i for one am quite excited about it. my favorite brand partnered with karen walker to create a chic capsule collection featuring playful prints and classic dark denim. i had my eye on this denim wrap skirt but ultimately ordered this ruffle blouse instead. i can’t wait for it to arrive next month (it’s already backordered!).
making it || what do you get when you cross the great british baking show with a bunch of crafters? the new competition show called making it hosted by two of my favorite people -amy poehler and nick offerman. the latter is basically my husband’s hero (he’s funny, he has epic facial hair, he loves his wife (shout out to megan mullaley), and he’s an amazing woodworker) and amy is, well, just the best. i love their natural chemistry (a by-product of their time together on parks & rec) and how sweet they are to all of the contestants. despite it having to do nothing with baking, i draw comparisons to the british import only for the fact that making it is also those “nice” competitions where everyone is just really lovely to one another (i.e. no sabotaging). also the barn in which the show is filmed is adorable much like the tent where the baking show is filmed. anyway, it airs on tuesdays on nbc and it’s just a delight so if you’re looking for a feel-good program to give you the fuzzies, i highly recommend a watch!
natalie borton hoops collection || my favorite jewelry designer (and real life friend) is launching a NEW collection of hoop earrings very soon and i can’t wait! while i will never tire of my tassel earrings, i love the idea of adding a few new styles to the mix, especially as we transition to fall.

as we inch toward the single-digit mark on my tenure left at my office job, i find myself more and more anxious (in a good way) for this new season of life to begin. i’m trying to remain present but sometimes i just wish the end of the month would hurry up and get here already. lucky for me, the next two weeks are still quite busy for yours truly so perhaps the distraction of a full schedule will help to pass the time. ANYWAY, all that’s to say, i am excited for a fun weekend and a fresh week of bringing you new blog content, especially as we head into fall. kids are heading back to school, preseason football is back on our tvs and word on the street is that the pumpkin spice latte is hitting starbucks stores as of august 28th. the most wonderful time of the year is headed straight toward us and i’d be lying if i said i wasn’t giddy with anticipation.

p.s. isn’t this bougainvillea bush incredible? S and i stumbled upon it on our walk to the lake on tuesday evening. i’ve made a mental note to do a photo shoot here in the not so distant future.
