it’s another rendition of what to wear when you’re craving fall but still experiencing summer temperatures. while the mornings have definitely been a bit chillier around these parts, the afternoons still feel very much like summer. so when i was putting together my outfit for this weekend’s casual date night, though i considered pairing my new eyelet top with a pair of my favorite jeans, the practical part of me knew that shorts (or a denim skirt -which i have YET to find) would be the better option.

i compromised my desire to plan a fall-inspired outfit by opting for a fall color palette instead. for that, i chose colors on the warm spectrum -a pair of pumpkin-colored shorts and my golden harvest tassel earrings. cognac accessories finished off the look.

this definitely won’t be the last time you see this victorian-inspired top. i’m obsessed with the mock-neck and the ruffled details. when natalie and i did our madewell try-ons a couple weeks ago, i modeled it under my overalls and fell in love with the juxtaposition of the masculine denim and the romantic top. besides my overalls, i plan on pairing it with wide-leg denim, wide-leg cropped pants, and a denim skirt (when i finally snag one!).
