this friday, i’m in love with…
outfitting my husband with a new work wardrobe || as you know, my husband recently asked me if i would help him spruce up his wardrobe for work and i all but squealed in delight. given my love for fashion and personal style, i couldn’t wait to get to shopping for him. i headed to our local outlet mall and managed to snag two button-downs from banana republic factory and two pairs of chinos from gap factory -all for under $100! since then, i’ve ordered him four additional button-downs and another pair of chinos as well as two more casual pairs of shoes. overall, i feel like we’ve built up a really great base for his new business casual style. when he wore his first outfit showcasing his new and improved style this week, i received a text a few hours later stating that he was “so comfortable and happy.” it warmed my heart. yes fashion can be frivolous at times, but it also has the power to change someone’s confidence and mood.
p.s. these are the chinos we purchased and they fit him perfectly, come in a bunch of different colors, and are on sale for less than $25.
jessica biel’s emmys look || despite the fact that we didn’t watch the entire telecast (why did they air the emmys on a monday night against MNF?), i did manage to peruse the red carpet looks (naturally). it was no contest as to whose was my favorite look of the night -none other than mrs. timberlake herself -jessica biel. from the makeup to the hair to the dress, she was award show perfection.
the return of the serial podcast || while i haven’t had time to start listening just yet, just knowing that there are two fresh episodes of serial’s third season waiting for me on my podcast app makes me so happy. i can’t wait to listen with S very soon (we’ve always made it a point to listen to each season together).
in my online shopping cart: this polka dot ruffled tee (if you saw the poll on my instagram stories, i opted for the dots > stripes this time), these snake skin booties & this front-wrap sweater
favorite outfits from the week include: kendi’s suede boots, jess’ sezane outfits, julia’s red suit, christina’s beret & lisa’s shag cardigan
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:

everlane vs. madewell in the wide-leg cropped pant debate
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend/next week:
double date with my parents at one of our favorite spots
learning new studio barre choreography
a lazy sunday filled with football!
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:
summer style, fall color palette
week three of “funemployment” is officially in the books and like the previous two, it was filled to the brim! i feel like i’m hitting a stride with my daily schedule (though no two days look alike right now) and it feels good to have a bit of a routine. while i have had a wonderful time being a “lady who lunches” these past two weeks, i will say that i’m looking forward to a quieter schedule for the rest of september. the mornings are finally starting to feel a little bit like fall and i personally can’t wait to bust out some sweaters and embrace this time of year (i already got two giant bags of halloween candy for our expected heard of trick-or-treaters). i hope your weekend is filled with the best of everything and i’ll look forward to seeing you back next week.
xoxo
