this friday, i’m in love with…
brow tinting || i started waxing my brows when i was 14. nearly 20 years later, there’s a pretty good chance that the shape i’ve been rocking the past two decades is what i’ll be rocking the rest of my life (the hair follicles at the waxing site tend to diminish over time). while i’m not unhappy with my brows per se, i would be lying if i said that i don’t dream of face framers that were a bit more on the lily collins side. SO i decided to make an appointment with one of our studio barre clients who specializes in things of this nature to establish what i like to call -a brow game plan. she suggested tinting them to enhance their appearance on my face. y’all, the results were magical! since i go make-up free about 99% of the time these days, i love how the slightly darker shade really frames my face. i am definitely sold on tinting! i can’t wait to keep it up.
yoga sculpt || as you know, i’ve become quite the amateur yogi lately, adding in a weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) yoga class into my normal workout routine. it’s a practice that i’ve come to really look forward to, if only for the stretching benefits alone. as i was perusing the schedule at the yoga studio, i stumbled upon a class that also incorporated a cardio and weight element called ‘sculpt.’ curiosity got the best of me so i signed up for my first class yesterday and ended up really enjoying it! set to music, the ‘choreography’ of the class moves quickly incorporating traditional yoga poses with strength training. the best part was as soon as i started to feel fatigued or confused (or both -i’m still learning all of the yoga terminology), we were already in savasana. can’t beat a 45 minute class! needless to say, i’m already signed up for next week.
julia earrings by natalie borton || my boss (hehe) is at it again –creating classic minimalist jewelry perfect for everyday wear! set your reminders because natalie is releasing FOUR styles of her signature julia earrings next thursday (5/2), this time in a matte finish. i personally just scooped up the teardrop style and i can’t wait to style them. of all of her jewelry, i find myself wearing the julias most often since the gold goes with everything. keep your eyes peeled because they’ll definitely be on the blog soon.
in my online shopping cart: as a follow-up from last week, this dress arrived and it was comically HUGE! i could have fit two people beneath the billowy fabric. normally i would have just chalked it up as an L but it was still cute enough to warrant a second chance so i returned the XS and repurchased it in an XXS instead. if you, too, were interested in snagging it for an upcoming getaway to the beach, make sure you size WAY down. i’ll report back if the smaller size is a better match. other than that, my abercrombie package finally arrived yesterday and the camis are just as good as i hoped they’d be! the bodysuits are definitely a bit outside of my comfort zone, so i’m going to take the weekend to style them and assess whether or not they’re something i can realistically see working into my wardrobe. stay tuned… oh and after seeing them on both natalie and my friend lo, i also just ordered these straw mules from target for under $25 and they’ll definitely be my shoe of the summer.
as far as other goodies i have my eyes on, madewell released some pre-summer pieces and i’m loving this ruffle-sleeve denim maxi and after seeing natalie’s styling session involving her new leopard midi skirt, i’m waiting for this one to go on sale so i can snag it and copy her 😉
favorite outfits from the week include: liz’s spring outfit, natalie’s styling session with vetta’s new capsule collection, conni’s fun pants, alicia’s striped top & hoop earrings & shannon’s bump-friendly looks (she just had her second baby!)
a sneak peek of what’s coming next week:
styling a bodysuit
slides for summer
three things i’m looking forward to this weekend/next week:
a second easter celebration with my family
a facial (the older i get, the more seriously i take my skincare routine!)
slightly warmer weather in the forecast
and in case you missed it, here’s what appeared on the blog this week:
i can’t believe we’re in the final days of april! summer is hot on our heels and i personally cannot wait. after a quiet blog week, i feel re-energized to dive back in and bring you some fresh content -including a styling session with some of my favorite fellow style bloggers. after celebrating easter sunday with S’s family last week, we’re headed over to my parents for a second round of belated festivities. even though we’re well into our 30’s, my mom still makes us easter baskets 🙂 other than that, i’m looking forward to a pretty quiet weekend and quality time spent with the hubs. we haven’t yet solidified the location of our weekly date night, but wherever we decide to go, i know it’ll be delicious. i hope you have a great last weekend of april and i’ll see you back here next week. as always, thank you for reading!
xoxo
