after breastfeeding/pumping for a nearly a full year with the twins, let’s just say my gals aren’t exactly what they used to be. i mean they weren’t much to begin with, but after logging so many hours with that pump machine, they’ve definitely been on a journey. mamas, i know you feel me.
but rather lament on the current state of my chest, i’ve chosen to chalk up the change as one of the minor inconveniences associated with becoming a mom. my body isn’t exactly as it was before, but you know what? I AM NOT EXACTLY WHO I WAS BEFORE. i grew not one but TWO tiny humans inside of me for nine months and then proceeded to continue to sustain them with my body for an additional 11 months. our bodies are insane miracles and any physical changes i endured pale in comparison to the little lives i’ve fostered as a result.
SO WITH THAT SAID, let’s talk about bras, shall we?
after wearing sports bras as my support of choice for nearly two years, my intimates drawer was in need of a little refresh. in all honesty, i’ve mostly just been wearing nippies because i’d rather go free than be constrained by an uncomfortable underwire but when true & co reached out and offered to send me some of their signature braziers i was like YES THANK YOU MY BOOBS WILL THANK YOU LATER. so here we are. i have three new bras that i LOVE and i want to tell you all about.
first let me get the sizing info out of the way. i’m about a 32-33″ A cup (honesty, probably a AA) and i’m wearing a size small in all three bras. i find them to fit true to size. if you are unsure of your size, i found the chart on the true & co site very helpful.
true & co has one simple ideal, for all of us, every woman, to feel comfortable in our own skin. and these bras do just that for me!
true body triangle convertible strap bra (small –in desert) || website description, “As versatile as it is comfortable, with convertible straps. The True Body Triangle Convertible Strap has a soft feel and plunging neckline that you’ll want to wear every day.” the straps can convert to a racerback style which is key for tank tops come summertime and the v-neck silhouette is perfect for layering under any neckline on dresses or blouses. but mostly guys, it’s just so dang comfortable. the microfiber fabric is silky smooth making it look and feel like i have nothing on. it’s easily my favorite of the trio, plus the desert shade is the perfect nude for my fair skin tone!
true body lift scoop bra (small –in bronzed) || the website description, “The new True Body Lift Scoop Bra with Soft Form Band combines the wireless support of our bestselling True Body Lift bras with our new flexible knit fabric band for the most comfortable fit.” it has a wide scooped neckline with a straight back, keeps shape and retains stretch, even with everyday wear. it also has removable pads which i love for the additional coverage. to me this bra kind of feels like your favorite t-shirt bra and sports bra got together and had a baby. the straps are a bit wider than what i normally wear, but it ensures that everything stays put no matter what the day brings. this particular style fits up to a size 42DDD and we love inclusivity!
true body boost v neck bra (small –in chestnut) || the website description, “Extra flattering with special shape-enhancing pads designed to perk up the bust, the True Body Boost V Neck Bra is a flexible pull-on silhouette crafted from our smoothing True Body fabric.” made with the company’s softest microfiber fabric, it’s meant to disappear under clothing while the removable pads offer lifting and shaping technology. and the v! again, i love a bra that tucks beneath a variety of blouse silhouettes. i could definitely feel the extra oomph from the additional padding near the bottom of the cup and if i had a bit more to lift, this bra would definitely offer some sassy decolletage, if you know what i’m saying! like the lift style above, this bra also fits up to a size 42DDD.
a big thank you to true & co for gifting me these bras to spruce up my intimates drawer in 2023.
