i found this print the other day on pinterest and i couldn’t agree more with its sentiments:
i’m a big believer of honoring W’s on life’s scoreboard -no matter their size. an “atta girl/boy” email from the boss or getting a price adjustment at anthropologie can be just as worthy of a celebratory drink or dinner out as any milestone birthday in my humble opinion. i mean, the latter may involve more cake and presents, but still, a victory is a victory and should be honored as such.
so when two of my barre besties were about to ring in their 300th studio barre class, i knew i wanted to be a part of celebrating their milestone. so on friday night, during the regularly scheduled “men & margaritas” class (every friday our studio honors complimentary classes for men, and complimentary margaritas too!), i was so happy and honored to tuck right alongside them as they hit the big three-oh-oh.
with one of our favorite instructors teaching, and with a full house of some of their friends and family, those sixty minutes became a party of sorts. never mind the pain i was in from the requested tough choreography (pretzel = ouch), it was so much fun to be there to help celebrate their little victory. let me tell you, 300 class is no small fete!
you know, life is short, and there are plenty of hardships we’ll inevitably face over the course of our journey. so i say we celebrate every opportunity we get. all of the wins in life. big and small and medium sized, too. because who doesn’t love a good party? and besides, there’s plenty of cake to go around.
